I'm a freelance location sound recordist in Cardiff and West Wales with over 20 years' experience working across television, documentary, and corporate productions. I regularly cover shoots throughout South and West Wales - including Swansea, Newport, Pembrokeshire and Aberystwyth. My Cardiff base is often appealing to clients filming in nearby Bristol. I'm always open to travelling further afield (and often do)!

I work across genres including observational documentary, factual entertainment, current affairs, branded content, and commercials. Recent credits include 'Billy Monger: The Race is On' (SBX Studios / BBC One Comic Relief), 'Charlotte Church's Dream Build' (Koska / Discovery+), 'Welcome to Wrexham' (NEO Studios/ Disney+ (UK)/FX Network(USA)), 'Grand Designs' (Boundless / Channel 4), 'Blue Peter' (CBBC) and 'Gardeners' World' (BBC Bristol / BBC Two), among many others.

Whether it's an intimate contributor interview or a multi-camera obs doc shoot, I'm used to adapting quickly to changing circumstances and working closely with crew and contributors. I aim to bring respect, technical reliability and good communication to each job.

My main kit includes a Sound Devices 833 mixer-recorder, multiple Wisycom radio mic kits, shotgun (boom) mics, timecode sync, IEMs, wireless hop and robust backup systems to keep everything running smoothly in the field (more kit details here). I also carry a backup recorder and offer dual-media recording as standard for secure back ups. I'm a member of the Institute of Professional Sound, BECTU, I'm fully insured, hold a valid Ch38 PMSE license, full UK driving license and passport, and a journalist I-Visa for filming in the US. I have a basic level of conversational Welsh.
