Peter Ford

I'm a multi-skilled DOP, with extensive experience behind the camera. I've worked with high profile clients such as NOW TV, The Times, Guinness, BMW, Stella Artois, Macmillan Cancer Support and Nationwide. My showreel is available on my website: www.peter-ford.com

My career has followed the path of an old school DOP, working my way up from the bottom. I started off as a camera assistant, training at both Ravensbourne and the BBC. I then worked as an assistant editor, then as a camera operator and steadicam op for various companies before finding a home at Spectrecom Films where I worked for 5 years. There I worked as a lighting cameraman / editor initially, then became their head of post production, before moving into DOP work as the company's head of photography - lighting in both studio and on location.

I've since moved on to work as a freelance DOP and film-maker. My varied skill set, and wide range of experience in many departments and with many different types of production, give me a unique outlook as a DOP. I would describe myself as highly technical, innovative, and full of enthusiasm for storytelling. I own a full Sony FX6 camera kit including a range of lenses, lighting and audio equipment.
