About Martin O'Leary

Hello there,

I am a London based freelance Premiere, Resolve and After FX editor, seeking further adventures and opportunity within the world of film, TV and video production.

I have plenty of longform experience. My most recent broadcast credits for Discovery include factual entertainment/documentary shows such as Abandoned Engineering (known as Mysteries of the Abandoned in the US), Shipwreck Secrets, Witness To War and Medieval Dead.

More recently, I have worked on the feature documentary Road of Excess (about the rise and fall of Matt Pritchard, formally an early 2000s MTV star of Dirty Sanchez fame) and to go to the other extreme, a 15 minute documentary short concerning 24 hours with the British Transport Police.

Furthermore, I have extensive experience cutting short form productions for social, corporate and the cultural sectors. Credits include work for Barclays, Bafta, Virgin Voyages, Sainsbury's, Capital FM, X Radio, Universal Music, Mercury Records, O2, BP, Marks & Spencer, Thomson Reuters, the National Theatre and the English National Ballet.

Additionally, I have worked as a writer on some of the TV shows I've worked on, writing voice over scripts for Abandoned Engineering and Incredible Inventions.

My storytelling talents coupled with a dedication to my craft and a unique perspective on the world allow me to create detailed and engaging films, while my background in music filmmaking has given me the capability to produce stylish, energetic, eye catching work.

I am always pushing for that extra beat that will truly make my work stand out from the crowd, and I am always hungry for meaningful work to get my teeth into.

My sci-fi comedy Kernel Panic, on which I served as writer, director, editor, sound designer, compositor and VFX creator.

The Line - 24 hours with the British Transport Police
15 minute documentary featuring a day in the life of a number of BTP officers. Avoiding the usual sensationalist route of documenting the Police, we focused on a more in depth and meaningful look at the trials, tests and strains on the officers working for the BTP.

FEATURE FILM
Road of Excess (2022)
Offline editing for a 90 min documentary about the rise and fall of Matt Pritchard, star of MTV's Dirty Sanchez. A man driven to extremes who is now facing up to his mental health and substance abuse issues, trying to live life clean, safe and healthy as he attempts to row the Atlantic with three other people. Winter Collection - HobbsA series of films promoting Hobbs winter collection, including an interview with legendary model Erin O'Connor.

Premier League Sweeps - Barclays
A series of short films promoting Barclays Premier League sweepstakes event. The winners of the sweepstakes were treated to a luxury weekend in London, a tour of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and attended a match between Liverpool and Everton at Anfield. This job included live editing on location during the event for social but also featured some post event promo films edited afterwards.
