Across 7 one hour episodes I was responsible for writing shooting scripts, planning shoots, directing crew and talent, shooting the content, recording sound, lighting then went into edit with 3 episodes working simultaneously across two edits.

A brand new Obs Doc series for channel 5 following what happens when you try to solve a murder. The cameras are at the murder scene when the forensics get there and follow the entire case and how they interact with the police detectives when trying to solve a murder. There are months of footage as the team followed the case. Each case makes up one episode and is a channel 5 one hour. I wrote the script and pulled the months of filming into a streamlined story working alongside an editor.

These programmes were presenter led and had cooking segments, actuality with families using air fryers, celebrity interviews. I was also edit producer meaning writing scripts in record times working with editors some times two at a time to get it completed in a couple of weeks.

Working to try and research, cast and shoot each film making sure the content is as hard hitting as possible... on this run I have dealt with People who have Hoarding behaviour, People battling with mental health to tracking down bed bug infestations to understanding the sustainability of our cut flowers.

This is a new true crime commission for prime time channel 5. Where the detectives on original murder cases come into a constructed incident room and walk through how they solved the case. They will be joined my family members of the victims in the constructed "family liaison suite" and other key police personnel who helped close the case.

I helped to create this new format for true crime, blending drama and documentary in visually interesting ways that helps push the narrative along making the viewer feel like they are moving forward with the investigators on the case. From planning and writing shooting scripts, directing actors and crew, through to working with an editor to help craft the finished programme.


LIGHTING UP CHRISTMAS

Filming at 5 different locations across the UK as the areas prepare for christmas by creating fabulous light shows of all shapes and sizes - from the intimate Kew Gardens bespoke artists light sculptures to the blockbuster Roald Dahl lights at Longleat this obs doc will take the public behind the scenes to see what goes on. Helped gain access to locations, built relations with the various institutions organised and filmed as part of a two person team key points in their set ups and "switch ons" of their lights. Saw through the project through into edit.

ACCUSED: GUILTY OR INNOCENT?

Filmed the trial portion of an obs doc for this acclaimed series that has superb and sensitive access to the person accused of murder and their defence lawyers. I filmed all the behind the scenes as the lawyers created strategies after each day of trial along with filming inside the court itself making sure each blow by blow account was caught on camera.

I produced and directed the Black to front series of episodes dealing with all the madcap mayhem that comes with a series such as this. It was the first time the show has been filmed in one location under covid regulations. All filming was conducted in a mansion in cheshire.

Wrote and directed an award winning low budget feature film musical that has been in film festivals and now been picked up by a distributor. The film follows the exploits of Frank an agoraphobic 18 year old who can't leave the house without holding his grandads hand. Frank has an incredible imagination and when the world becomes too much he goes into a realm of larger than life musical numbers but now with his Grandad ill will his recent chance meeting with a shopgirl finally help him live in the real world?

The filming included a story about a one armed climber who we filmed at a competition in Austria, A 10 year old boy with a rare genetic condition and his beautiful friendship with his 3 legged dog and the tale of a 24 year old woman who completed her twin sisters bucket list after she had died from cystic fibrosis.

All of the filming was self shot by myself using the C300. Special mentions from Commisioner Tom Giles and Michael Jermey about the quality of the programme.

True observational documentary following the highs and lows of the landlords and the tenants who they look after. Everything from a rat hunt conducted with air rifles to a gypsy couple of lovable rogues akin to "Coronation Streets" Jack and Vera Duckworth. Must see TV in most TV guides for the week it transmitted.

Shooting C300 retrospective interviews also.

As a shooting AP I would receive the information from the researcher and then put together a shooting script along with a concept to make their story visual. Making very complex stories, often dealing with issues such as finance, visually interesting and keeping a good flow of material all within 5 minutes was a very difficult task but one which I enjoyed and succeeded at.

Worked as a self shooting AP on a hospital based series. Casting possible patients and hospital staff and producing the stories following them to a conclusion. Dealing with budgets and liaising with UK production office and series producer to ensure the smooth running of the shoot whilst away in Spain. The biggest challenge on the shoot was filming the story of on particular patient who almost died of pneumonia and when his family flew out to be at his side dealing with them sensitively whilst still geting the most out of the story.
