About Josh McGrath

I am a freelance runner/production assistant/editor open to opportunities across film and TV production. I hold an MA in Documentary Filmmaking (distinction) from University of Arts, London and a BA (Hons) in Anthropology from the University of Bristol, so combining creativity with great research skills. I am a freelance runner/production assistant/editor open to opportunities across film and TV production. I hold an MA in Documentary Filmmaking (distinction) from University of Arts, London and a BA (Hons) in Anthropology from the University of Bristol, so combining creativity with great research skills. My work on the MA course was praised for being both creative, sensitive and exemplary storytelling and my final film is being used by the university to introduce new students to the course.

Since graduating, I have worked in various capacities. I have acted as producer for a series of training films shot in Dubai for a technology company hosting a meeting in the area, most of which I edited. I have acted as production assistant (and second camera) on a series of PR films primarily developed for social media platforms and have acted as director/editor on a health and safety film for a rail company. I have largely edited all my own work and am very passionate about the whole post-production process and what it can bring to a project...its where the magic happens. I have also recently completed a course in AE to enhance my capabilities in this area.

At this stage in my career, my main focus is to continue to gain experience within this wonderful creative industry. As such im happy to take any role that allows me to grow my capabilities while hopefully assisting those looking to nurture young talent. My recent roles have included

• Shadowed all the departments in post - helping with sound design, quality control and logging footage.

• Sourced camera teams and editors large for a corporate conference event in Dubai (Ricoh).
• Interviewing clients and guests on their experience of the conference to gain feedback.

• Hired after graduation by LCC as the Director to carry out a 20-minute health and safety induction video for one of their clients (CAF).
• Responsible for the creative vision of the film, storyboarding and music selection.
• Involved in all areas of the film's development from pre-production, production and post.
• Consistently engaged with the client to ensure their vision and demands for the film were met.

Fastnet Film Festival, Ireland:
Responsibilities and Achievements:
• Reviewed over 100 documentary submissions for the Fastnet Film Festival's Best Human Rights Short Documentary, narrowing down selections to the top 3 finalists with a focus on impactful storytelling.
• Participated in the award ceremony, announcing the winner for Best Human Rights Short Documentary and effectively presenting the film's outstanding qualities to promote human rights awareness.

• Assisted festival attendees and guests by offering directions and addressing inquiries, contributing to a positive overall guest experience.
