• Sound mixer, VT ingest operator and Clarity operator for Teddington Studio 7. Duties included making sure mic packs and IEM systems were charged, checking/calibrating mic frequencies, levels and EQ settings on the Yamaha digital desk, checking PFL and bringing mics to air when required.

I've been working in TV, live-events and the media for the past 17 years across a range of disciplines, and I am now looking for more opportunities in a freelance capacity.

I started my career at Teddington Studios as a studio cameraman, and then progressed to become a Multi-Skilled Operator (Sound/VT/Graphics operator) at the Studios from 2003-2007. Since then I have worked across a range of specialisms from mixing 5.1 audio to audio-visual editing, presenting TV to hosting the Ideal Home Show at London Olympia and SECC Glasgow. Working both on-stage and behind the scenes gives me an acute awareness of technical issues that can arise, the pressures that result, and the knowledge that any such issues that must be handled swiftly and sensitively.

Although sound related disciplines are undoubtedly my speciality, I do have an extensive working knowledge of other production roles such as vision-mixing/camera operation and gallery producing; I hold both Honours and Masters Degrees (with commendation) in music/sound technology - graduating from both at the Royal Albert Hall - and have composed music for a range of television and film productions. I subscribe to the full Adobe CC suite, and run 2 concurrent desktop and laptop sound systems installed with Cubase Pro / Pro-Tools / Waves / VSL / Cinesamples / NI Komplete and so on. I also hold a current CompTIA A+ certification for troubleshooting IT issues.

I attended the Allen and Heath DLive "Certified Engineer" course at SSE/Audio-Technica and I have had familiarisation training on DigiCo SD series desks; I am booked in for similar training on the newly announced Quantum 338. I also have good working knowledge of Yamaha sound desks (e.g. From the O2R many years ago to the rather more recent CL series).
