To help ITV News' dynamic politics team produce distinctive and ground-breaking coverage. Working with our political correspondents, news desk, cameramen and editors to ensure we are covering the right stories for our audience to the highest standards across all ITV News' platforms.

Responsibilities:

To work with political correspondents to produce packages of the highest quality
Carry out research, interviews and filming for all platforms
Write and produce innovative and accurate graphics
Research stories for the best elements, lines, and angles
Responsible for the timely delivery of packages for bulletins
Identify original political stories for bulletins, online and social media
Basic editing of material for different platforms
Managing competing demands on multiple stories with different deadlines

Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of the political news agenda
Sound research skills
Experience of owning a story from commissioning through to broadcast
Decent political contact book
A track record of delivering exclusive journalism
An awareness of digital media and able to identify stories that would perform well online
A proven ability to conduct news-making interviews
Confidence to travel at short notice and operate under pressure
Concise and accurate writing for scripts and graphics
A creative thinker - original takes on stories, angles, and treatments
An understanding of news editing
