VT Operator/Editor - This Morning

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the This Morning team as a VT Operator

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic VT Operator with excellent attention to detail to ensure that all edits are carried out to the highest creative and technical standards possible.

You will edit any programme material required for This Morning, while on live transmission, overseeing the server based playout - we are currently using Avid Interplay Capture and Mira Explorer but the ideal candidate should be able to adapt to any system as and when required. Thoughout the duration of the live transmission you will be required to play video clips in from a variety of sources therefore a good knowledge of Avid iNews Command and Mira Explorer is essential for this role, this may also include hot-rolling last minute content from Avid Newscutter.



You'll possess a creative flair and work efficiently as part of the gallery team. You will provide operational and creative support to programme staff and have the ability to work collaboratively with Directors, Producers and Researchers. You will check, monitor and play out all video content into the live studio production and to manage recordings.



In this role you will be the last in line to check the VTs and ensure there is no missing footage, incorrect timings/outwords or lip sync issues a basic understanding of colourspace and gamut would be advantageous.

You will be able to remain calm under pressure and be able to effectively assess and prioritise timescales required for the VTs and have the ability to execute tasks within tight timeframes.

We are looking for a self-starter who can work on their own initiative, who is able to problem solve and come up with sound solutions. You must have a proven track record of having worked within a live television environment and in a busy gallery environment.
