Duties of the Role

We are looking to appoint a Video Technician to support the teaching staff and students in the filming of projects at the School and assisting with the live streaming of our theatre productions. In particular the focus is responsibility for recordings of filmed drama performances, classroom projects and web streaming event.

The Video Technician will be also mentoring staff and students in the proper use of video and sound equipment. The post holder will regularly driving equipment and crew to and from locations, and managing the media equipment as required.

This full time permanent role will be based in Loughton (Central Line) and other locations as required for special projects. There may be occasional support required for the Southend Campus

Skills and qualifications required

In order to be successful, it is essential that the appointed candidate has experience in film or video making. In addition to this, the successful candidate will have a relevant undergraduate degree, or appropriate professional training or qualification in video cameras and audio equipment.
Previous experience in digital editing and previous experience working in an arts environment are desirable. The candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with their team, university's students and staff. Experience in using Apple Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office package is also an essential requirement for this role.
