Perform is looking for candidates to join a rapidly growing Distribution Operations team, working in a live engineering environment on projects across Perform's OTT video content platform. The department carries out design, development, maintenance and support of our OTT live streaming, VOD and global video network platform which operates in a 24/7 broadcast environment.

In addition to OTT video platform skills, candidates will ideally have previous knowledge of contribution & distribution compression technology and multicast networking experience

HERE'S YOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF!)

Detailed design, costing and delivery of Live and VOD Video Encoding Platforms to project requirements
Working with commercial stakeholders to provide high level costing based on early requirements
Ensuring adherence to, and development of, technical standards
Identifying continual improvement possibilities to internal systems and services
Definition of design specification based on business requirements
Training and handover to support teams and 3rd Line Support

YOU'VE GOT TO HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS TO DO YOUR JOB WELL...

Experience of building and maintaining live streaming encoding platforms, technologies and workflows
Experience of building and maintaining VOD video encoding platforms, technologies and workflows
Specialist 3rd line experience of supporting Live and VOD platforms
Understanding of OTT Video delivery environments

Good knowledge of video codecs, container types and live stream delivery protocols Experience of building and maintaining server hardware and operating systems

DO YOU HAVE THESE DESIRABLES?

Multicast video delivery and associated networking skills and requirements
Large scale deployments of video platforms in global environment
Knowledge of video playback support of major device groups (PC, iOS, Mobile, Connected TV) including common DRM Schemas
Solid general IT background and good all-round networking and firewall knowledge Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows Server (2008,2012), Win (7,10), Centos, Linux.
Experience configuring and working within virtualised environments
Knowledge of live stream delivery protocols - e.g. HLS, DASH, Smooth Streaming and Flash
