Video Producer/Visual Storyteller
London
History Hit is an sVOD (subscription Video on Demand - think Netflix) startup. We're looking to employ an experienced video producer to plan and deliver our next round of historical storytelling.
We produce or publish one film on our channel every week - some of this is licensed, but a lot of it is produced ourselves - we have TV historian Dan Snow as Creative Director, and are regularly talking to top historians about making new films.
We're looking for an experienced video producer who can help us take these stories and turn them into great films for the History iIt TV channel. It could be a temporary or permanent hire - we've got an immediate demand. The main thing is being able to translate a script into a visual story - either through footage or images. To do so accurately, you will need substantial professional experience. While you won't have to be a technical animator, being able to visualise and plan this will be essential.
You should also be aware of historical accuracy, source material and fact checking. If you have not worked in current affairs or factual content before - this may be a sticking point.
This is a unique opportunity at a very early stage of our company. It's not 'content marketing' or advertising - it's a proper opportunity to become a documentary maker.
Immediate starter preferred. No need for a long covering letter - 240 characters and your CV is all good.
