We are looking for documentary-makers or video ethnographers (self-shooter/editors) fluent in at least one of these languages: Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu for a social research project. UK based candidates are preferred but could be flexible on this. It is vital that you have a genuine interest in learning about people and culture, and an observational style of film-making.It is essential that you are fluent in at least one of the languages listed above as we will need you to conduct filmed ethnographic interviews in South India (exact locations TBC) and edit the interviews in that language back in our London office. You must also be fluent in English, and you must be a competent editor (Adobe Premiere Pro). Previous ethnographic/social research experience is very desirable.This is an exciting opportunity to explore the world of farming and cocoa production in India, meet local farmers, their families and communities.Fieldwork in South of India is likely to take place in November [dates TBC] preceded by a briefing [date TBC]Editing in London (preferably, but could be flexible on this) will follow thereafterApprox. 4-5 weeks of workMore information available on request
