We are seeking an enthusiastic, team player passionate about television. This role will be based at our Wakefield HQ and suit an editor seeking to legitimise their skillset by professionally editing content for a broadcaster, building upon their experience(s) to date and/or striving to gain experience having studied such field of work.

You will be working in on high-volume, fast-turnaround content for both our TV and digital products. The production process at British Muslim TV is very team-orientated; you'll have more opportunity than most editors for creative and technical input. This opportunity includes the ability for you to obtain on-screen credit(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Working independently on content and the creation of video projects (short and long-form) for digital and TV
-Adhering to the channels editorial standards
-Aiding in the creation of on-screen graphics
-Occasionally assisting with scheduling/transmission tasks
-Coordinating with the Head of Broadcast & Studio Operations
-Consistently striving to better British Muslim TV's programmes
-Undertaking any other relevant duties that benefit the business

REQUIRED:
-Colleagues must have the right to live and work in the UK
-Sympathetic to the Islamic faith/values of Islam
-Strong understanding of Adobe CC software: primarily Premiere Pro, Photoshop & After Effects
-Working knowledge of Mac OSX
-Familiarity with various video codecs and digital workflows
-A strong team player
-Ability to work calmly under pressure
-Excellent communicator
-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a broad range of people
-Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to post-production schedules, managing multiple projects and deadlines

DESIRABLE:
-Qualification(s) in broadcast media, film, journalism or television production
-Hold a journalism qualification (BJTC, NCTJ or equivalent) or have relevant newsroom experience
-Proven work experience in television production
-Working knowledge of sound editing using Adobe Audition (or Audacity)
-An understanding of Islam and the British Muslim community
-Experience of adhering to OFCOM regulations with good legal and compliance knowledge
