The purpose of this position is to support the Instructional Design department (IDD) in creating high quality, innovative and engaging learning experiences using video technology.
It also encompasses the creation of 'talking head' video content and screen capture recordings completed by tutors and the content team which are edited and inserted into learning resources.
Responsibilities
* Management of AV media assets
* Recording and coordinating the recording of media
* Transfer of source files from the recording device
* Uploading videos onto the content delivery network (e.g. Kaltura)
* The managed archival of both raw source files and processed assets for accurate file retrieval and management
* Maintenance of central record of live links within IDD-created learning resources
* Editing captions (subtitles)
* The initial training for tutors new to the process and advanced follow-up's with experienced users, in the use of Camtasia (or similar)
* Recording assets for tutors and content specialists as required
* Liaison with tutors to confirm quality of home recording setups prior to full recording
* Editing of raw source files to obtain optimal audio and visual quality and to include framing screens to assist with learner navigation

What you'll bring
This is an ideal role for a media graduate who has experience in filming, editing and animation. Applicants must provide a portfolio of previous work.
Essential
* Editing videos primarily using Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Camtasia
* Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
* Knowledge of professional media equipment (e.g. microphones, cameras, lighting, etc.)
* Strong, accurate and grammatical written communication skills and good verbal communication skills
* Good organisational skills, able to balance competing work demands (workload) and manage own time in order to meet imminent and distant deadlines
* Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
* Use of professional AV equipment (e.g. microphone placement, lighting set-ups, shooting on location, etc.)
* Chroma keying using Adobe After Effects
* Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
* Experience with Adobe Illustrator
* Uploading videos to CDN
* Encoding videos using Adobe Media Encoder
* Create graphics and basic animations using Illustrator or Photoshop and Adobe After Effects
* Basic understanding of learning theory and evidence based instructional design as it applies to AV learning resources
