Tutor

Aldgate East, London

We have an upcoming module of study for our undergraduate students, and we are looking to engage a tutor. The course is delivered through the Central Film School, based near Aldgate East, London.

Please find the module overview, and if you are interested in discussing this further, please contact us.

Course start date: 6/6-2017

Course end date: 18/8-2017

Days per week for the delivery: 2 days

The aim of this module is to familiarise students with the current Television industry, and how creative ideas can be developed, pitched and commissioned for TV Broadcast (ie. BBC, Ch4, ITV) or online platform (ie. Netflix, Amazon) as an alternative to the theatric release of a single film.
We learn about the TV genres of Drama Comedy and Factual, and look at examples of quality innovative contemporary work. We will develop our own ideas, and learn how to structure and pitch them editorially for TV, and online transmission. We learn how to identify the different TV channels, and find out what they are looking for.
We will compare the different production techniques of drama, comedy and factual programmes and learn about the differing process from idea to screen.
Appropriate TV scheduling (ie. a series of 1 hour episodes x 3), script development, cast and character storey arcs, locations, budgets, and supporting online spin offs and social media marketing, shall all be explored for drama and comedy.
This module will provide the student with the opportunity to pitch a TV drama or comedy to an industry panel. This will involve group work from the beginning of the course.
