Role Summary

We are looking for a multi-skilled Researcher. As a television researcher, you'll provide vital support to the producer and production team. You'll source contacts and contributors for our programmes, as well as supply your own ideas and be able to work on location. This role requires organising, planning and researching everything that will happen during a programme. This includes collecting and verifying information, booking guests and assisting in the studio, if needed. You're also responsible for fact checking, writing briefs for the programme scripts and ensuring that production adheres to appropriate legislation.

Role responsibilities

finding facts, figures and information and clearing material such as archive footage and images

working on our different lifestyle programmes

checking copyright and negotiating fees for material usage

Finding, interviewing and booking guests to take part in programmes

assisting with script writing and during the live programmes

generating programme ideas

About you

at least one or two years' experience as a researcher

excellent at researching and writing

able to meet deadlines

able to absorb information quickly and retain it

creative and resourceful

excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

skilled at building a rapport with all kinds of people

alert to what makes a good story or angle

highly organised

cool under pressure

self-confident and persistent

aware of media law, ethics and broadcast regulations

able to work well in a team

flexible

Desirable

vast knowledge of the Muslim and British Muslim scene
