Technician

Northampton

Planning and implementation of routine, scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance, service and repair of technical lighting, sound & video equipment and infrastructure for the Derngate, Northampton Filmhouse and other associated Royal & Derngate spaces. Take part in Get ins, Fit-ups Show operation and Get-outs on an ad-hoc or continuing basis.

Key Task Areas
• Promote and adhere to the organisation's culture and values.
• Promote and provide excellent Customer Service.
• Under the direction of the Head and Lighting & Sound carry out routine,
scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance of technical infrastructure, equipment and services with particular emphasis on production electrical systems, lighting, sound and video equipment.
• Ensure systems, equipment and infrastructure are inspected and tested in line with current legislation and industry best practice.
• Assist the Head of Lighting and Sound with the creation and implementation of suitable administrative policies and procedures for the recording of inspection and testing of production electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure policies and procedures for the recording of inspection and testing are adhered to and updated as appropriate. To maintain up to date knowledge of current and new equipment, practices and legislation
• Under the direction of the Head of Lighting and Sound, ensure that safe working practices are observed in line with the departments RAMS policies and procedures.
• As required by the Head of Lighting and Sound, carry out risk assessments and the creation and implementation of safe systems of work and procedures relating to job purpose.
• To be aware of, adhere to, and implement any legislative requirements consistent with overall duties of this post, with particular regard to Health and Safety policies and procedures, Data Protection Act 1998 and Equal Opportunities.
• To undergo relevant training and development as required by the Head of Lighting and sound.
• To attend meetings as and when required.
• To carry out any other tasks (including fit-ups, shows & get outs) that will, from time to time be allocated by the Head of Technical Services or Operations Director on an ad hoc or continuing basis, commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.

Essential Desirable Experience
• Proven experience of maintaining technical equipment/working in a service environment.
• Proven Experience of electrical testing including PAT, RCD and Installation testing.

Knowledge/Qualifications
• Appropriate Electrical Qualification(s) Understanding of and commitment to live performance

• Current UK driving licence - prepared to drive company vehicles
