Technical Supervisor

Summary of Position
Technical Supervisors at The Farm are key to the running of our Operations department. They are expected to be a point of contact for Production, Creatives and Operators alike in regards to workflow advice, project management troubleshooting and escalation.
This is a great role for Senior Edit Assistants who are looking for that next step with potential routes into Editing/Creative, Post-Producing or further into Operations Management.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities Include:
• Project Management - Tech. Supervisors will be assigned projects to work on alongside the Post-Producer ensuring workflow is established and correct resources are accounted for
• Client liaison for project setup meetings, workflow enquiry and general technical & logistical advice
• Liaison between IT and Engineering departments to make sure hardware and software requirements are maintained and supported
• Ensuring high standards are kept to in Edit Assistant departments - including facilitating training for junior team members and routine technical protocols are followed
• Line management of a team of Edit Assistants, providing pastoral care & leadership alongside tracking progression & growth through formal reviews
• Working alongside other Tech. Supervisors to manage workload and resources across the edit support departments
• Keeping abreast of new and emerging technologies via attending relevant industry events and getting involved in testing and exploring new kit and workflows

Skills & Experience required:
• An excellent knowledge of Avid Media Composer & Nexis storage, with a track record from ingest through to conform & delivery
• Technical knowledge of camera acquisition formats including codecs, colour spaces & metadata, and how they interact to NLE's and post-production technology
• Knowledge of Windows, Mac OS & networking concepts & terminology

Desired
• Experience with additional Post-Production Tools such as Resolve, Nucoda, Flame, Content Agent, Baselight and other NLE's
• Knowledge and experience working on 4k, UHD, HDR & colour-managed pipelines
• QC and Mastering experience from AS11 to IMF
• Experience using ScheduALL

Hours of Work
• Core working ours will be from Monday to Friday in an early - late rotation with other Technical Supervisors. The shift hours may span from 7:30 to 9pm. 40 hours per week
• Night shifts are not expected in this role, but the ideal candidate would understand that due to the nature of the work we do, calls outside of hours may occasionally be necessary

Holidays: 23 days holiday rising to 25 days following 5 years' service (not including bank holidays)
