Technical Post Production Supervisor

Main Job Purpose
We are looking to recruit an Technical Post Production Supervisor working within a team of highly talented and dynamic professionals on live and pre-recorded TV programmes. A cool head under pressure and an ability to get the job done correctly first time is essential for this role.

Summary:
Tinopolis is one of the UK's leading independent TV and Film production companies with offices and production companies in Wales, London, Glasgow, Washington DC and Los Angeles. We deliver over 500 hours of live and pre-recorded television programmes a year from our studios in Llanelli. Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
The Technical Post Production Supervisor is primarily responsible for the administration and maintenance of our post production edit, storage and file sharing facility here at Tinopolis. The role will require knowledge of Avid's ISIS/ Nexis, Media Composer, Airspeed and Interplay systems but also 3rd party equipment such as Content Agent, Storage DNA and Grass Valley Summit and Solo products.

Ideally you will have recently completed a degree or Level 5 qualification in Media Production, Computing & IT, Electronics or similar course and are looking for both a hands-on and supervisory role. You will need to be computer literate and confident to simultaneously work across different media projects. You will need to be organised, methodical and be able to communicate well with both technical and non-technical staff.

Role Overview:
• Monitoring Avid ISIS/ Nexis to ensure that the total storage is balanced appropriately across productions
• Managing assets to make sure files aren't duplicated or assigned to incorrect locations.
• Monitoring the system to ensure optimum performance
• Ensure that media is correctly indexed and that invalid file paths are deleted as appropriate
• Creating new workspaces when needed
• Managing users access to workspaces and performing both weekly and monthly maintenance tasks.
• Upgrade software versions as they become available from Avid and 3rd party suppliers
• Fault find and repair/ restore equipment with the support of our system integration partner
• Help and support editors and production staff with their video editing workflow
• Downloading/ Uploading video files for viewing, delivery or further post production editing, including file re-wrapping and transfer
• Archive, back-up and restore video projects
• Contribute with the daily live running tasks of a busy post production department.

Advantageous Competencies:
• Knowledge of file-based formats, workflows and technologies
• IT competency including network infrastructures and servers
• Digital video files, formats, codecs and wrappers.
• Digital video & audio signals, standards and processing
• Grass Valley Dyno Summit and Solo facilities
• Best practices in storage and transfer of files

Personal Competencies:
• A friendly and approachable manner with a willingness to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Able to grasp new concepts readily
• Hands on, can-do service mentality
• Enthusiastic and flexible
• Welsh language skills are of benefit to this role due to the programmes being created and broadcast through the medium of Welsh.
