Technical Manager

London/Essex

Reprezent is a youth radio station and engagement platform based in London.

We are currently working with schools across Essex, raising Mental Health awareness the support available to young people. We do this by delivering an hour-long interactive assembly that includes music, games and live audio visual production. The assembly simultaneously connects two or three schools together via video link, creating an added element of excitement and competition.

We are looking for an experienced technician to oversee all technical aspects of the events. We would welcome applicants with Live TV experience: OB (outside broadcast) and Live Studio and/or live event experience that involves audio and video (e.g. conferences, sports, music).

Roles & Responsibilities
Helping to oversee technical aspects of the live event, including set up/break down, testing, troubleshooting, sound & stage lighting, video, projection and streaming,
Liaising with school staff (IT teams, facilities, teachers) regarding our technical requirements; carrying out on-site tests to determine if school facilities are fit for purpose.
Working within an established but early career production team, that includes a production manager, director, camera operators, techies, presenters and DJs, helping to ensure that all technical considerations of the show are addressed.
Research and sourcing of any equipment required for the event, working within budget constraints, liaising with hire companies and equipment suppliers.
Helping to plan all technical aspects of the production; minimising risk, establishing contingencies, whilst ensuring cost efficiency.
Alongside the Production Manager, coordinate event logistics, particularly those related to equipment storage, transport and load in/out.
Helping to manage tech staff, including roles & responsibilities, bookings, invoicing and training/briefing.

Person Specification
3+ years experience of OB & live studio broadcast and/or live event experience that involves audio & video
Knowledge of mixers, audio connections, microphone placement, video cameras, camera peripherals (such as Teradek) and vision mixers (such as Black Magic ATEM) (essential).
Knowledge/experience of troubleshooting technical issues in a high pressure live broadcast environment (essential).
Able to represent the organisation in a professional manner and build rapport with people from various backgrounds (essential).
DBS required (essential).
Knowledge/experience of internet based video streaming, ideally using the Skype TX system (desirable).
Knowledge/experience of computer networks; firewall/filtering, proxy servers and VPN (essential).
Sympathetic with the organisation's objectives (desirable).
Knowledge/experience of outside broadcasts and/or stage lighting (essential).
Experience of working in schools (desirable).
Full/clean driving license (desirable).
Own transport (desirable).
