Wild Pictures Ltd. is looking for an experienced & enthusiastic Technical Manager to join our production team. Wild develops high-end factual and acclaimed access-led programming. As Technical Manager you will assume responsibility for all technical logistics throughout the production process; from planning to implementation you'll co-ordinate equipment, rushes & storage across multiple projects. The right candidate must have an eye for detail and understand the protocols necessary in safeguarding sensitive material.
Skills
A comprehensive understanding of Avid Media Composer, video standards & file conversion is essential. We require an in-depth knowledge of camera equipment, lenses, audio and stabilisation gyros. The highest standard of communications skills are required to a bridge complex logistics & ideas between production and post production. The successful candidate must have strong IT skills with 3 or more years in a previous film/television technical role.
Responsibilities
You will be expected to design bespoke workflows & storage solutions to entertain the requirements of each production. You'll create equipment inventories and where necessary carnet lists. Before principle capture you'll spend time with the crews configuring their equipment & training them when required.
Once shooting begins the Technical Manager will be the first point of contact for troubleshooting technical issues internally and externally, where necessary articulating complex problems to technical staff at post production facilities & hire facilities. All technical issues must be addressed in a timely manner so that problems are resolved quickly and with minimal impact to the output.
You will be responsible for tracking the movement of rushes and their duplication. Once logged at the Wild production office footage will be transcoded into Avid Media Composer. An offline ingest project will be developed, which may require specific handling such as audio syncing or LUT management.
A large volume of reviewable materials are exported and distributed. These DVDs and links are created for contributors, transcribers & translators; these files often require timecode burn-ins and watermarks. You will be responsible for creating such material timing, & co-ordinating their distribution.
