Role:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Artist with a wide range of development knowledge to join our growing team on an exciting new project. You will have a passion for solving technical challenges, pushing for quality and efficiency where possible. As a Technical Artist you will be a key member of the creative team helping to create game ready effects and shaders, you will have a mind for technical and artistic workflows and the ability to make artistic decisions.
Main Responsibilities:
• Work with the Unity toolset to create custom shaders, set up rendering and optimise graphical components for mobile titles
• Build custom processes to improve the efficiency of the art pipelines
• Work with the art team to fulfil the artistic vision for the game
• Support the art, development and design teams to help resolve technical difficulties
• Participate in R&D of new techniques and add to production pipeline
• Lead optimisation processes, asset benchmarking and profiling to ensure performance for mobile devices
• Create documentation of toolsets the team can use
Essential:
• Prior experience within the games industry with at least 1 shipped title
• Strong experience with Unity/C# and Python
• Knowledge of art pipelines and optimisation for games
• Experience with special effects in Unity
• Technical proficiency in lighting, rendering, texturing and writing shaders
Desirable:
• Excellent artistic ability
• Up to date experience and knowledge of current game development practices and terminology
• An interest in popular science
• Fan of pop culture, Rick and Morty, adult humour
