ROLE: SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER ON LARGE INTERNATIONAL TV PRODUCTIONROLE DESCRIPTIONWe are looking to fill the role of Sustainability Manager on a large international TV production. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with all departments to develop, coordinate, and promote effective environmental sustainability initiatives to reduce the production's environmental impact. Responsibilities include; • Overseeing the development and implementation of a production wide sustainability strategy.• Helping individual departments to work to those sustainability strategies.• Hiring and managing the team that will make up the Sustainability Department.• Educating the crew and cast about sustainability and the collective responsibility of protecting our environment.• Troubleshooting problems around reduction of waste and carbon footprint.• Overseeing the reporting of carbon emissions and waste produced.• Working to achieve sustainability targets on budget and on schedule.REQUIRED EXPERIENCEThis role will require collaboration with Studio Executives, Heads of Departments, and on the ground crew. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a range of professional environments and have the following;• A minimum of three years experience working in the screen industry. A strong working knowledge of how crews operate, the challenges they face and the processes they go through is required for this role.• Proven critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems and strategies.• Experience working in Sustainability or for environmental protection organisations.• A strong knowledge of global environmental issues and solutions.• Experience with, or knowledge of how to facilitate behavioural and culture shifts toward sustainable practices.• A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Film, or related field.• A working knowledge of environmental reporting, including experience with carbon counting on a large international project.PREFERRED EXPERIENCEThe ideal candidate would have experiences from a variety of the following sources:• Prior experience as an HOD in the screen industry.• Experience leading a sustainability department on a production, or as a sustainability coordinator on a production of significant scale.• Experience implementing a carbon reduction strategy.• Experience with waste-auditing.SKILLS & QUALITIESThe ideal candidate for the role of Sustainability Manager would have a combination of the following skills & qualities;• Effective verbal and written communication skills.• Initiative and ability to work independently.• Practical and collaborative problem solving skills.• Critical thinking skills.• Patience, resilience under pressure and strong listening skills.• Research skills and desire to maintain knowledge base from international screen sector learnings and best practice.• Attention to detail and in reporting / accounting systems for carbon and waste monitoring.Full time, ongoing role, starting February 2022.
