Supervising Producer

London

The Supervising Producer of International Video is a key leadership position within the London digital video team. This role will be responsible for leading a production team that will create a range of video content for publication and distribution across multiple CNN Digital platforms. This will include daily news video, features, series, and special projects. The Supervising Producer will have an opportunity to contribute to the overall video strategy, and to develop new formats of video storytelling that deliver the highest quality journalism to CNN's digital audiences.

The ideal candidate is a news driven, creative producer with exceptional organizational and people development skills. This person wants to use video in service of storytelling in a variety of formats in the news and feature arenas, from finding engaging ways to share and contextualize the news of day, to producing compelling and premium feature video. The Supervising Producer will collaborate across CNN, working closely with teammates in domestic and international newsgathering, digital editorial, television and more.

The Supervising Producer will be responsible for video news coverage from London, working with various editorial partners across CNN on coverage opportunities. This person will build coverage plans for upcoming priority news events, oversee production of premium video features, and develop new concepts for video storytelling, all while being able to pivot quickly to cover breaking news as needed.
This role will manage a production team comprised of full-time and temporary staff working on both news and feature video, and will be accountable for creative, technical, and budget decisions. The Supervising Producer will need to be able to help develop, communicate and evangelize a consistent style and voice for digital video across CNN.

Selection criteria:

Experience in a deadline-driven, high-profile consumer news environment.
Proven ability to develop and produce award-winning video over mobile and social platforms.
Track record of building operational infrastructure, from setting up video publishing systems to building field kits for producers.
Proven ability to manage the creative execution of high-impact, sponsor friendly, feature video
Excellent knowledge and skills with field shooting using high-sensor cameras and related gear.
Expert-level experience with post-production software
Proven ability to manage large projects and assemble multi-disciplined teams.
Real passion for breaking news.
College degree or equivalent experience.
