Job Title: Supervising Producer

Job Purpose: To be the first point of contact for the Production Team. To assist the Presentation & Production Manager in the daily management and running of the team by ongoing mentoring and developing all Producers and Senior Aps on shift. To take part in the creative process for new shows and products to ensure that programme output is to the highest possible standard.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

As Supervising Producer:

Grade 3:
•To work closely with & provide support for the Presentation & Production Manager.
•Training and development of Producers and Snr Assistant Producers on shift to ensure high standards, liaising with the opposite Supervising Producer to ensure consistency in work standards and teamwork.
•Liaising with the Senior AP to monitor the performance and development of the Assistant Producers.
•Provide regular feedback to the Presentation & Production Manager on the performance of and any issues within the team.
•Assist in the recruitment process for new Producers and Assistant Producers.
•Develop and action the training plan of all new Producers.
•Conduct bi-monthly 121s for all Producers and Senior Assistant Producer on shift.
•Complete the appraisal process for all Producers and Senior AP's on shift along with the Presentation & Production Manager.
•Allocation of daily rotas for Producers and Assistant Producers in accordance with the Grading structure.
•Brief new product and show strand info to the team, assigning appropriate teams to handover to.
•To be the on call point of contact for the Production Team during evenings and weekends when on shift.
•To arrange/provide cover for sickness and absence on your shift.
•To ensure all broadcast hours are prepped, planned and covered on a daily basis.
•Work alongside the Supervising Director/Producer and Creative Developers to develop and maximise the potential of forward planning.
•Work with Producers and Creative Developers to build up a database of all programme strands and treatments for department efficiency and continuity.

Grade 2:
•Attend New Product, Event & Pre-production meetings to forward plan show editorial, production requirements and challenging methods and practices to offer innovative output.
•Action show reviews on request and submit new formats when appropriate.
•Project manages and produces high profile shows in order to offer exciting output and maximise sales.

Grade 1:
•Work alongside the Supervising Director/Presentation Co-Ordinator to conduct screen-tests.
•Work alongside the Supervising Director/Presentation Co-Ordinator to conduct guest and model training.
