JOB DESCRIPTION

Technical Directors provide a key job in the gallery, giving support to the lead Director for organising all technical teams to work in collaboration. The TD is responsible for ensuring that the gallery is technically fit for purpose, for the correct routing of internal and external sources, plus control the lighting desk and Vision Control (rack) four studio cameras.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Keeping the channel output clean and on-air at all times
- Managing the gallery and studio team and getting the best from all involved
- Talking with all technical teams to organise technical requirements of the broadcasts
- Vision Engineering and Lighting Control


KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

- Direct operations management/studio management experience in a technical environment
- In-depth understanding of television production and troubleshooting techniques
- A thorough understanding of the whole news production process, from gathering, editing, graphics, to output and transmission
- A strong knowledge of studio and control room equipment and knowledge of maintenance techniques
- Experience with gallery operations, in particular the organisation of outside sources
- Thorough knowledge of playout automation and traffic systems and broadcast server technology
- Ability to remain cool, calm and collected at all times and keeping the gallery as calm as possible even under real pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- At least one years experience in a similar capacity within a broadcasting environment

- Central London location
- Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 18:00 (may change)
- Rolling contract with 4 weeks notice
- Salary on application
