Studio Floor Assistant

London

As a Studio Floor Assistant, you will ensure the smooth running of floor operations, acting as a link to the gallery crew, presenter(s) and guests. You are responsible for assisting with the set changeover between programmes, studio sound and autocue for the lunchtime bulletin.

Responsibilities

To relay directions and instructions from the director in the gallery
To oversee the studio floor, ensuring that health and safety rules are observed (such as tidy cables, trip hazards, no drinks etc.), especially with studio guests who are unfamiliar with the environment
To make sure the needs of special guests such as wheelchair users or guests with guide dogs are appropriately met, whilst following Health & Safety guidelines
To move cameras as directed
To mic up presenters and guests and liaise with the sound engineer for quality
To load, run and update auto script prompting system
To liaise with producers, the director and guests on live OBs

Qualifications

Must be able to remain calm in all situations
Clear thinking and concise when communicating with others
A team player, and of a flexible nature
Must have an overall view of studio operations and functions of each area
Experience in engaging with a wide variety of guests from different backgrounds, from politicians to grieving parents
