The Studio Director for Westby will lead all entertainment projects originating from the Westby studio with responsibility for all aspects of production. They will work closely with our highly experienced team of Directors, Producers, Head of Production, and our team of lead, senior and junior artists.
They will strategize and implement tasks and targets crucial to the growth of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Review and refine the technical and artistic pipeline for creative projects
* Work with the Senior Team to ensure client specifications, budgets and timelines are met.
* Full responsibility for studio-wide budgeting and forecasting, secure management of studio P&L.
* Use breadth of technical knowledge to advise of enhancements relevant for the Entertainment Industry.
* Grow our creative network with the help of our Outsource Manager to deliver the highest quality.
* Motivate and inspire the creative team whilst creating buy-in for your vision across disciplines.
* Work with Marketing and the Entertainment Account Director to identify new market opportunities.
* Martial the appropriate resources needed to pitch for and schedule new business.
* Assess scripts/storyboards to determine requirements & produce quotes.
* Cost and schedule new enquiries alongside the Account Director
* Liaise with and advise clients to determine requirements, monitor deliverables and deliver to budget.
* Brief and manage the senior and internal teams and ensure correct resource is allocated to projects
* Provide verbal & written progress to clients, management & internal teams.
* Chair project meetings with senior management and with art teams, delivering client feedback.
* Liaise with senior management to ensure production resource planning and recruitment is on-going.
* Assist Head of Production to formally give and gain feedback on each project's completion.
* Continue to recommend innovative approaches to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
MUST HAVE SKILLS & QUALITIES:
* Able to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment
* Business planning and strategy skills aligned with the Entertainment sector.
* Efficient at managing budgets, timescales and milestone delivery.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience in directing a pipeline, client relationship management, and project delivery.
* First-class time/project management skills, and competent in Shotgun.
* Good knowledge of the process for asset development in Entertainment
* Highly organised with a proven ability to prioritise conflicting tasks
* In depth knowledge of the CG Entertainment industry, with a relevant sector background.
* Proficient in working within teams towards a common goal
* Strong leader with the ability to motivate cross disciplinary development and commercial teams.
* Strong knowledge of 3D Studio Max, V-Ray & Nuke
* Understanding of live-action and CG based visual effects workflows.
