Studio Camera Operator for both live and recorded programmes. Interpreting requirements from the Director and running order by carrying out instructions regarding shot composition and development. This is not an entry level position.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

setting up camera equipment, inc patching wall boxes, triax cables
choosing the most suitable lenses and camera angles
planning and rehearsing shots
following a camera script
working closely with other technical departments
training MSOs
assist Art Department - moving sets
in-house location self-shooting, audio operation, setting lighting




Person's specifications:

good knowledge and experience of pedestal cameras
good sense of visual composition, perspective and movement
knowledge of procedures and best practise within a live studio environment
the ability to carry out instructions quickly and accurately
calmness under pressure
patience and concentration
basic knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and procedures
good levels of stamina and physical fitness
