Working closely with a small and close-knit team, the Studio Assistant / Web Technician will work alongside the Studio Manager to support a variety of productions including video and audio recordings and live broadcasts in house for one of our key clients.
A bit about this role
The Studio Assistant / Web Technician will be based at our client site in Brentford. Working closely with a small and close-knit team, the Studio Assistant / Web Technician will work alongside the Studio Manager to support a variety of productions including video and audio recordings and live broadcasts in house for one of our key clients.
In addition, the Studio Assistant / Web Technician is responsible for a variety of studio management tasks, in-between productions.
Whilst based in Brentford you will still benefit from agency life and be part of the overall team.
What you will be doing
Ensuring the tidiness of the studio in-between productions, making sure it remains presentable.
Ensuring all equipment and kit is properly and safely stored and labelled appropriately.
Managing kit bookings and ensuring all items of kit are in working order and fit for purpose, making sure that kit is prepared and on time ready for collection for each job.
Checking all kit back in, ensuring everything is present and correct and in full working order; flagging any issues or missing kit immediately with the Studio Manager.
Assisting the Studio Manager with the general maintenance of equipment and supplies and carrying out software/ hardware updates in conjunction with the Studio Manager.
Carrying out the role of Web Technician during live broadcast events.
Creating the Video on Demand (VoD) / archived recording of live productions.
Carrying out the role of Technical Operator for smaller live meeting broadcasts.
Working with the Studio Manager and crew to set up (rig) events and resetting the studio after productions.
Becoming familiar with all crew roles within a studio production to develop the ability to step into any role if / when required.
Ensuring a rigorous process is in place and adhered to in relation to the way kit comes in and out of the studio space, ensuring maximum utilisation of the space.
Primary Web Technician for live events.
Gaining a solid understanding of the Studio / Production workflow.
Be able to step into production roles (Camera Op, Graphics Op, Editor) to support the Live team.
This is not an exhaustive list and the job holder may be required to undertake additional duties from time to time.
What we are looking for
Genuine interest in all thing techie and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Strong IT skills and awareness.
Experience working with AV/ IT or Video Production equipment and working in a studio.
Experience of supporting live events and video production.
Understanding of AV equipment, different connections, inputs, outputs.
Ability to operate camera/ sound equipment (desirable)
Knowledge of Live Streaming platforms (Webex, Skype, etc.).
Ability to communicate clearly and work well within a team.
Ability to take instructions.
Strong mental resilience, able to work independently and meet demanding deadlines.
Ability to continuously prioritise.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Desire to learn a variety of roles in a studio environment, happy to get involved in all aspects of production.
Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace.
Willing to work away from home and travel and an ability to start early when required.
