Studio AP

Cardiff

Crimewatch Roadshow takes to the streets of Britain to appeal directly to the public for help with unsolved cases for a month of programmes on BBC One.
Featuring filmed reconstructions and items following the work of the police, the show comes live every morning from the Cardiff studio as well as from the OB, which travels across the country. It's a major BBC Studios network programme and we are looking for a talented Studio AP to work as part of our 2018 team.

- Your main role will be to generate studio based items, which may involve props, demonstrations or VT inserts, that will interest and engage a daytime audience.
- You will be responsible for researching the items, fixing contributors, scripting the content and briefing the guests and presenter on set. You need to be ambitious about what can be achieved in the studio and come up with innovative ways to tell a story on a tight budget.
- You need to be able to deal with talent and have the ability to remain calm under the pressure of a live programme.
- You will require exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail as well as the ability to think creatively about potential content.
- You may be required to self-shoot short VT inserts for some items. This is not essential but some self-shooting experience would be an advantage.
? A journalism background would also be an advantage and a thorough knowledge of legal issues and BBC editorial policy guidelines relating to crime output, is key.
- You will have good people skills and the ability to work tactfully and diplomatically with the police and sensitive contributors.
- You will be able to use your own initiative, but will need to be a team player who can juggle competing priorities and work to extremely tight deadlines.
- Ideally you will have worked on live studio productions and journalistic presenter-led output, but again, this is not essential for the right candidate.

Please get in touch if you think you fit the bill!
