Story Producer

London

Reporting directly to the Producer and Executive Producer, we are looking for a skilled Story or Script Producer with considerable production experience to head up the Silent Witness editorial team going into the series' Silver Anniversary. You will have excellent storylining skills and the ability to hire and work with multiple writers to originate and craft unique standalone ideas and develop serial stories. You will also understand the opportunities and challenges of production and be able to adapt accordingly.

You will need three years script editing experience and will be able to show highly developed editorial analytical skills. The ability to multitask and prioritise competing demands is essential. You will collaborate well with and understand how to lead a team. A good understanding and knowledge of Silent Witness is desirable.

This role is ideal for candidates keen to acquire skills as a step towards becoming a Producer of HETV and you would be expected to support and stand in for the Producer where appropriate. BBC Studios Drama actively encourage and welcome applications from underrepresented groups from within the industry.

Role Responsibility
We are looking for an individual who will drive the development of authored, bold and innovative stories for Silent Witness, proactively working with new and established writers across current and future series.

Senior script editor for the series

To manage the editorial team, and move between research, development and production

Support the Producer where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate
Considerable production experience in a senior editorial role.
Excellent storylining skills and originator of ideas.
Track record of hiring and working with multiple writers across a long running series.
Highly developed editorial analytical skills.
Ability to communicate well under pressure.
Understand and respond to budgetary and production limitations
Wants to be part of a collaborative team. Generous with knowledge.
Interest in acquiring further skills in step towards HETV Producer role
