Story Editor

Leeds

It's never quiet in the village / Is your head bursting with brilliant and innovative story ideas to really grip the nation?

Whether it's the sound of the White's deadly car crash, Ross' heartbreaking journey or the war erupting between the Dingle and Tate families, Emmerdale has been making a lot of noise. As the success of Emmerdale continues to grow an opportunity for an experienced additional Story Editor to support the Story Producer and Producers in creating and delivering our storylines has arisen.

We're looking for a talented Story Editor to join our editorial department, helping to create and produce storylines to the highest standard. Liaising with the Series Producers and the Story Producer, you will prepare, supervise and edit storyline documents ensuring they're delivered to agreed deadlines and to the highest possible standard.

You would be responsible for leading talk-throughs, editing storylines, liaising with Production and chairing story meetings when appropriate.

You will have extensive experience and a proven track record of storylining, writing or script editing for continuing drama and a fluent understanding of the production process. You'll be brimming with story ideas and have a genuine passion for Emmerdale. This is not a role for the faint-hearted - you must be passionate, energetic, dedicated, talented, and resilient.

In return, you'll get to work with a brilliant team and be part of an institution, helping to create unmissable drama. Emmerdale commissions in excess of 322 episodes per year and thus require long and unsociable hours. If you have what it takes and want the opportunity to work on one of the nation's top soaps, apply now!

We continue to work hard to make meaningful changes to make sure ITV continues to welcome diversity, celebrate individuality and support an inclusive working environment.

Then apply by the closing date for applications: 31st July 2018

We are looking to hold interviews on 7th August 2018

Emmerdale is proud to be an Albert Accredited Sustainable Production. With environmental sustainability at the core of everything we do both on and off screen an awareness or qualification in carbon literacy would be advantageous. Should you be successful in your application there may be a chance to receive this training.
