About Timeline Television Timeline's busy and exciting Outside Broadcast base, home to our OB and RF fleet including the World's first 4K OB truck and HDR truck. An engineering centre, where a large part of the R&D for Timeline's projects take place including Formula E, Sail GP, Women's Football, Love Island and many more. You will be surrounded by a fun and friendly team with an endless supply of office refreshments, including breakfast, teas, coffees, and healthy snacks and fruit.About the RoleYou will be working primarily on locations throughout the UK and worldwide to guarantee a variety of Outside Broadcasts as well as spending time in our Greenford base for offsite preparations and maintenance. The Sound Guarantee Engineer will be delivering an exceptional service to our clients and providing technical advice and guidance to Engineering and Unit Managers.Main DutiesGuarantee small and large Outside Broadcasts on Timeline's fleet of scanners and flyawaysDeliver exceptional front facing service to Timeline's clientsProvide support, technical advice and guidance to Engineering and Unit ManagersAssist in prepping, loading and planning of jobs as well as manage the on-site crew of staff and freelancersDeliver basic setup, support and sound mixing within our Ealing Studio's operationSupervise the rig of audio equipment on siteEnsure all customer requirements are tested and back-up systems are in placeThe job will involve a great deal of travelling, driving and frequent nights away from home, in the UK or abroadKnowledge, Skills, and ExperienceProven experience in TV Outside Broadcast operationsThe ability to understand the client's requirements and programme the network appropriatelyThe ability to work to a very high standard in unfamiliar surroundings, hired vehicles and flyaway scenariosAn in-depth knowledge of sound desks, router control systems and system 'glue' used across our growing fleetA detailed knowledge of signal formats, coding and transport methods; Intercom and talkback equipmentA working knowledge of computer IP and other data networks in the television environmentA good general understanding of all broadcast engineering areas including power supply systems, cameras, intercom, file-based media systems and Radio Frequency (RF) technologiesExcellent customer service and communication skillsFlexible approach to problem solving and openness to new challenges and alternative solutionsA positive manner and ability to respond tactfully and sympathetically to staff and client requestsA team player and ability to remain calm under pressureA good knowledge of the principles of health and safety at workBenefitsYou will be eligible for a variety of employee benefits including but not limited to:Private health careMedical cash benefitsCycle to Work schemeTravel insuranceWe also organise regular social events across different locations, giving an opportunity to get to know employees all over.Please ensure you are eligible to work in the UK before applying as we do not provide sponsorship.
