The network aims to fulfil the Arab citizen's desire for content that engages them and capture the way they perceive themselves, their world and the future.As well as a very competitive salary Alaraby Television Network also provides an excellent private medical and dental coverage, pension and annual leave.Post: Sound EngineerSalary: £ 40kLocation: LondonPrimary Tasks:• Manage and oversee the live audio, and sound recording within the studio across all live and recorded programming.• Responsible for reporting all sound issues to the Broadcast Engineers.• Assisting with the maintenance of sound equipment (desk, mic's etc.) as necessary.• Identifying the sound requirements for each programme.• Making recommendations with respect to Sound for ENG/deployments.• Developing and standardising the optimum Sound Configurations using the systems and installations in place and in close collaboration with Operation Engineers and overall broadcast workflow.• Ensuring consistency of Audio quality output across LIVE and recorded productions• Supervising, training and providing all necessary support to freelance Audio Operators and Junior Audio staff.• Advising on best setups and configurations for external location productions as needed.Essential Skills:• Understanding of broadcast technical standards.• Working with engineering departments in the provision and maintenance of innovative and professional sound applications and facilities.• Analytical skills enabling the ability to assess News/Programmes needs, and working collaboratively to propose technical and workflow solutions.• Possessing good organisation, communication and problem solving skills.• In-depth understanding of Lawo desk.• Able to troubleshoot & identify issues with the Lawo desk, which can be reported to the Engineering team.• Familiar with Ofcom guidelines with respect to Audio & RF.• Excellent communication & time management skills.• Excellent written & spoken English. Arabic language is an advantage.Requirements:• Degree or similar industry qualification in Audio Technology related field• Industry experience as a Sound engineer within a live News production environment• 5-10 years' experience in a live broadcast environment.
