The Snapchat Producer will create content for our daily Snapchat edition, bringing us to a new, younger audience through innovative visual storytelling.

The position requires a passion for visual media married with a flair for traditional written journalism and editing. You will be working with a team of designers, dedicated Snapchat editors and the wider newsroom to create truly multi-media stories, utilising a variety of journalistic disciplines, for the Telegraph's large and growing audience on Snapchat.

Key responsibilities

* Write sparkling copy for top snaps and long-form articles, editing adapting pre-existing content for Snapchat audience where appropriate.
* Story ideation for content commissioned primarily for the Snapchat and social audiences
* Create, write and edit 'Snapchat-first' content aimed specifically at a younger audience.
* Spotting strong, visual articles that have potential to be built into new packages for the Telegraph's audience on Snapchat.
* Edit pictures and videos so that they are optimised for Snapchat.
* Work in line with the Telegraph's high publishing standards.
* Attend daily Snapchat conference to help generate ideas.
* Work effectively with the team of Snapchat motion designers on innovative, visual storytelling techniques.
* Work to create new visual storytelling techniques which can be used across the Telegraph's main site and social channels.

Requirements
Essential skills required for the role

* An understanding of the Snapchat platform and social media in general.
* Ability to write brilliant, accurate, witty copy - quickly - both for articles and Snapchat headlines and 'sells'.
* A sense of fun, an eye for design and the ability to come up with innovative ideas.
* A love of news and current affairs, and a desire to always know what is happening in the world.
* A digital native, you will have a knowledge of different storytelling methods and of what makes a good story for Snapchat and other social media.
* Experience of working to tight deadlines.
* Knowledge of Photoshop and how to edit pictures and video to optimise their value.
* Additional skills useful for the role
* Knowledge of animation and Adobe suite.
* Newsroom experience, either writing or editing news copy.
* Experience writing for the 18-24 demographic.
