These range from continuing drama such as River City, EastEnders, Holby City, Casualty, Pobol y Cwm and Doctors, Birmingham dramas such as Father Brown and Shakespeare & Hathaway as well as series and serials such as Silent Witness and Doctor Who, to name just a few!Role ResponsibilityThe Series Location Manager Head of Department will report to the Executive, Series and Line Producers.Your duties will include:-Work with and manage the team of Location Managers and Unit ManagersRecruit and train a team of Location Managers and Unit ManagersNegotiate competitive prices for location hire. Identify costs associated with each locationInterpret scripts to identify the need for different types of locationsDiscuss requirements with directors, designers and other department heads to assess relevant locationsFind and research locations, assessing them in terms of financial affordability, location practicality and suitability for given productionsMaintain detailed, reliable information sources about locations, including their ownership, directions and facilitiesManage the department budget to ensure high-quality, cost-efficient outcomesEnsure compliance with local regulations, as well as other contractual obligationsThe Ideal CandidateTo be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:Previous experience of working in Scripted Drama as a Location Manager, preferably on a continuing drama seriesProven ability to source suitable locations, with highly developed negotiation skillsDemonstrable experience of establishing constructive relationships with location ownersExperience and knowledge of raising contracts and other legal documentationExperience and knowledge of the financial and budgeting regulations and systemsCurrent knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and associated procedures, including how to comply with regulatory requirements#youmakethebbcPackage DescriptionBand: DContract type: 12 Month FTC / AttachmentLocation: BBC Drama Village, Birmingham**Please note that this is a generic job description for a Location Manager.
