Senior Technician: Camera & Lighting

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technician in Camera and Lighting within the School of Film & Television. Recent capital investment has allowed the school to move forward to embrace workflows and image capture/output up to and including 4K resolution. We are looking for a new team member to become a cornerstone of the technical team by transferring knowledge of the technical aspects; and equally as importantly, the craft of camera and lighting operation to our students.
The ideal candidate will have substantial recent demonstrable craft experience in camera and lighting, this will be derived from working as a practitioner and operator within industry on wide range of productions and also from supporting an academic curriculum. You should be able to provide a C.V. of broadcast film and/or TV credits that will demonstrate a wealth of experience in these craft areas.
Technically, you will have operational experience of broadcast, ENG and digital cinema camera equipment such as RED Scarlet, Blackmagic Cinema 2.5k, Canon C100/5D, Sony FS7, JVC700 and Panasonic P2's. You will also have experience of lighting operation in support of film & television production, both on location and on shooting stages. This includes the selection and rigging of lights according to production requirements. Knowledge of multi camera TV studio and gallery operation including vision mixing and lighting desk operation would also be a distinct advantage.
You will provide a professional level of technical instruction, curriculum support, demonstration and supervision for the technical facilities, equipment and/or processes for all of the subjects of the School. This includes the set-up, maintenance and supply of resources and equipment, and the provision of technical assistance, advice and instruction to all stakeholders, including students, academic staff, and external clients.
