Senior Technician (Post Production)

Middlesex University's Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries is an exciting creative hub which inspires and challenges students in a friendly, inclusive and innovative environment. Our teaching is underpinned by industry practices enabling students to shape their learning using the professional equipment and technology in our state-of-the-art facilities.

The technical team within the Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries is seeking to appoint a Senior Technician in Post-Production to support students, staff and the related technical facilities. The role will typically be held by someone with extensive work experience in post-production and/or delivering post-production expertise in an educational setting.

There is a need for someone with excellent skills in Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere, along with knowledge of editing craft. Applicants who hold either an Avid or Adobe instructor qualification will be of particular interest.

The position will require the post-holder to be flexible and work across the Faculty, delivering masterclasses, inductions and workshops, while also supporting student work and classroom activities. This is alongside helping shape the delivery of the curriculum within the specialism of moving image production.

You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the technical facilities, including our Digital Media Workshops, Edit Suites, Avid Nexis (network shared storage) and other media technology systems, and coordinate activities within the respective areas. We are seeking someone with:
* A degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant technical subject, or have considerable relevant industry experience in a post-production role
* Comprehensive knowledge of post-production workflows and industry practices, and extensive experience in a post-production capacity
