BBC Studios is the main TV production arm of the BBC. It is a major supplier of high-quality content and the source of many of the BBC's most creative and inspiring programmes.

One of our programmes, is looking for an experienced series producer with experience in overseeing the making and delivery of short-form journalistic content.

Please note: we are open to the Senior Series Producer working remotely with some travel to London or Manchester when required

Role Responsibility
This role oversees the delivery of short films which regularly feature as part of Morning Live programme. The films are made by dedicated teams and are delivered on a regular basis. The Series Producer liaises between the production team, the studio team and the Series Editor of Morning Live, overseeing the process from concept to delivery. They are responsible for a strong development pipeline, encouraging a risk-taking, innovative approach to ideas development and to deliver on the vision for the programme.

We need a strong journalist with experience of running teams and excellent communication skills to oversee and ensure delivery of these short films to Morning Live. You will have a track record in topical short form, popular investigations, thoughtful features and fast turnaround reaction pieces, plus a good visual eye. This is a demanding role, supplying several finely crafted films of around five minutes duration to the studio team in London every week.

The Ideal Candidate
Morning Live is a high-profile show under close scrutiny. You will be thoroughly familiar with legal, right-to-reply and editorial policy issues and have the authority to build positive collaborative relationships with suppliers, including other Series Producers, film-makers and Executive Producers whilst talking them through often complex issues.

You will have substantial recent experience as a Series Producer and experience making or overseeing current affairs and topical features for a popular magazine show. You will have a track record of managing a production from ideas generation through to delivery. Evidence of sound editorial judgement and the ability to lead a team and inspire creativity in others are essential, as are good writing skills, previous management experience, and demonstrable experience of organising and keeping on top of changing schedules in a fast-moving environment, with often contentious material.

We're happy to discuss flexible working. Please indicate your choice under the flexible working question in the application. There is no obligation to raise this at the application stage but if you wish to do so, you are welcome to. Flexible working will be part of the discussion at offer stage.
