Senior Script Editor - Emmerdale, 12 Month FTC

As the success of Emmerdale continues to grow - regularly pulling in viewing figures of over 7 million, we are looking for an experienced Senior Script Editor to join our busy hard working team, ensuring that every single one of our 312 episodes a year are top quality entertainment.

Your role will involve attending and contributing to Emmerdale's story conferences, reading submitted scripts and offering creative and structural editing notes to the Producer; warning of major continuity, technical, schedule and cast issues. We will look to you to lead / contribute in first draft script meetings, in line with the Producer's notes/comments and work with script writers and script editors to rewrite scripts as required.

A crucial component of the role is coordinating and leading the continuity reads, requiring a meticulous eye for detail. You will be a key contact for script amendments and would be expected to oversee amendments as required by directors and crews on location and in the studio.

You will follow scripts through all the stages of production from pre-production to post-production, dealing with various levels of personnel, therefore strong communication skills are a must.

You must demonstrate previous continuing drama script editing experience with sound editorial judgement and an eye for detail with the ability to generate creative ideas whilst displaying an awareness of a rolling production schedule.

You should be conscientious and have a creative but logical mind. Emmerdale is a 6 Episode, 52 week commission and as such may facilitate long and unsocial working hours.
