Senior Production Executive (Scripted)

London

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Executive (Scripted) to join the Commissioning Team.

Key Responsibilities:
Work mainly on UKTV's scripted content from development to transmission - on both scripted comedy shows and dramas and collaborate with colleagues across all areas of the business to deliver successful commissioned shows.
Work closely with the Commissioning team and the Channels, ensuring that their editorial vision is reflected in the budgets and schedules, resulting in delivery of high-quality programming.
Analyse and negotiate programme budgets and advise on viability.
Monitor programme budget spend throughout production.
Manage a slate of scripted programmes from inception to delivery.
Negotiate and agree principal talent fees with producers/agents.
Deputise for the Head of Production as required.
Collaborate with colleagues across all areas of the business to deliver successful commissioned shows.
Work with Legal & Business Affairs and the Programme Funding team to create good financial and deal structures, negotiating with external suppliers as required.
Mitigate risk to UKTV and our productions - including covid risk management and monitoring cashflows to protect UKTV's financial exposure.
Manage budget and sign off on development spend.
Ongoing reviewing and updating UKTV's Producer Pack and other relevant documents.
Ensure productions are delivered in line with UKTV's technical specs and resources are in place to enable this delivery, including streamlining delivery processes and supporting paperwork when required.
Support the Director of Commissioning with implementing UKTV's commissioning strategy.
Work proactively with suppliers to improve diversity on and off screen. Promoting UKTV's All Voices Initiative and monitor diversity through Project Diamond.
Promote sustainability across all productions, including Planet Placement, carbon action plans and carbon offsetting through Albert.
Foster collaborative relations between UKTV and content suppliers, making UKTV a broadcaster of choice
Live, embrace and be a role model for UKTV's values.

Knowledge and Skills:
Is an experienced Production Executive or Senior Production Manager with an excellent track record of end to end production management of scripted content
Has demonstrable knowledge of the commissioning process, having either negotiated programme budgets directly with broadcasters, or has worked for a broadcaster negotiating budgets with production companies.
Has extensive experience of complex commissioning negotiations, including co-productions and advertiser funded output.
Is a committed and co-operative team player who is able to support other members of the team.
Has the ability to harness team spirit and collaborate with colleagues across the business to deliver successful projects.
Is able to retain focus on long term objectives and also retain a detailed grasp of day-to-day issues.
Understands the need to leverage maximum value from rights ownership,
Has an ability to successfully manage a high volume of complex projects concurrently.
Has up to date technical production knowledge
Understands the multi-channel environment.
Has the ability to take a proactive and flexible approach to work and be comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities.
Is an excellent negotiator, influencer, and relationship manager.
Has a genuine passion for TV.
