Job Introduction
The BBC Studios Events team is a central function within the Communications department, working with various departments across BBC Studios. We now have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Senior Events Producer to join the team on Fixed Term Contract for maternity cover producing and strategically planning, managing large scale, high value, complex business-to-business events (to include conferences, exhibition builds, promotional events, activations, screenings, staff engagements events).

BBC Studios events include BBC Studios Showcase and Natural History Unit Open Day, third party events include MIPCOM, APEX, Content London.

The role will lead other members of the events team including a combination of Event Coordinators, Event Producers and freelancers, depending on the complexity of the event.

The role will support senior management, advising the Head of Events and Senior Event Managers on event proposals and requirements, whilst also having responsibility for account management.

Main Responsibilities
Accountable for producing world class events (virtual and in person) consumed live or on demand, landing key messages and brand experiences to drive sales, business growth and build reputation of BBC Studios.
To establish a deep understanding of our clients, their business objectives and lead on proactive creative event solutions and planning to support these goals and engage audiences.
Provide event expertise to manage an event from initial idea/concept. Ensure successful account management of multiple stakeholders/briefs.
Support the Head of Events to develop and maintain process and a way of working that empowers team members to do their best work and the department to scale as required.
To manage the entire event lifecycle including venue sourcing, catering, procurement, health + safety planning, audience management, scheduling, budget management, supplier coordination, management of internal resource to full event evaluation.

Are you the right candidate?

The successful candidate will have:

Experience in strategic event management essential at a senior level.
Proven experience of excellent commercial acumen and knowledge of managing events from implementation through to completion in a b2b corporate environment. (ideally within media industry).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and negotiate effectively, as well as the aptitude to work on several projects at one time.
Possess a strong understanding of project-related client service including day-to-day communication, meetings, and presentations.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, time sensitive environment to ensure timely high quality delivery.
Extensive experience of producing creative events from brief to completion, good editorial standards and sound production expertise for appointing suppliers.
Ability to write technical briefs to suppliers invited to pitch for business
Confidence in managing event teams, providing guidance to more junior team members to encourage development within the team.
Extensive experience in managing significant budgets, including analysis of team spend up to approx. £4m.
Proven experience working with a wide range of event technology including the procurement & implementation and continuous improvement of this.
You should be an educator and influencer to the business to deliver high quality events using best practice.
Exceptional attention to detail and organisation skills.
