Senior Director - International Operations

London

Based in London and part of the Global Technology team of dynamic, creative and collaborative problems solvers working together to build highly secure and scalable solutions to drive innovation and operational excellence. You will be working closely with international technology teams around the globe and partnering with WMG engineering teams to architect solutions, support and promote alignment to Warner Music Group standards and to drive operational efficiencies.

Driving adoption of global standards, engaging with group technology initiatives to support timely delivery and technical communication. Provide technical advice and guidance for budget planning and management with regional technology in respect to global standards and projects. Promote understanding of regional demands and foster liaison with WMG global engineering teams. Recognise the imperative of standardised infrastructure and engineering solutions and be cognisant of local requirements and considerations.

Here you'll get to:

Act as an agent of change, working closely with WMG Global, UK and regional technology teams to drive and implement WMG Global Technology standards and initiatives.
Engage with international technology teams to understand their local requirements and challenges, providing technical guidance. Promote global inclusion and collaboration with international teams.
Provide technical liaison and a bridge between international and WMG global technical teams.
Identify, plan and deliver best-fit operational and infrastructural solutions, working with Global Technology teams to WMG global standards.
Provide guidance and assistance to international technology teams on key operational activities.
Ensure international technology teams have access to WMG preferred pricing deals and services. Actively leverage group supplier relationships for UK and international teams.
Keep international teams appraised of planned work and service-impacting changes. Ensure awareness and consideration of regional impact with central teams.
Think creatively to deliver successful adoption of global standards to the benefit of regional teams
About you:

Demonstrate 10 years + working in enterprise technology with strong technical experience and excellent communication skills:

Communicate with VP level and below as well as technical teams globally.
Build relationships with international technical teams, co-ordinating successful project delivery.
Plan solutions with local teams and vendors, work with local resource to see projects through to successful completion.
Define and manage budgets for local and regional initiatives, track spend and provide recommendation and guidance to local teams.
Plan and manage project delivery to completion, with formal reporting, tracking and metrics to measure success. Ensure early visibility of delivery-impacting issues and creative solutions to deliver projects on time and meeting business expectations.
Drive adoption of standardised technologies internationally. Co-ordinate across internal technology team, cross-discipline, to drive timely delivery.
Operate within a formal governance framework, ensuring change and risk management process compliance.
Work with vendors and third-party engineering teams, driving delivery and co-ordinating response with internal teams.
Mentor and develop your team, seek opportunities for growth and team self-development to deliver increased productivity and efficiency.
Think creatively to deliver successful adoption of global standards with clearly defined benefits to both group and regional teams.
It would be music to our ears if you also had:

Experience managing global teams internationally including working cross-culturally.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with experience of clearly imparting information to technical and non-technical audiences alike from VP level down.
Management of projects across global teams, using Agile and waterfall project methodologies, with formalised reporting and measurement.
Knowledge of storage and backup technologies (Dell/EMC, Veeam) with experience of resource and capacity planning.
Understanding of running workloads in public cloud (AWS, Azure) and private cloud.
Experience in Office 365 infrastructure
Exposure to virtualisation technologies (VMWare/Hyper-V/cloud).
Experience of Python & Powershell. Understanding of Linux.
Solid experience of budget planning and financial management, preferably with showback and/or chargeback models.
