As Senior Technician you will support the smooth facilitation and delivery of each Content Services project, ensuring that materials are received and delivered on time and to specification. You will also be responsible for acquiring and consolidating project information in advance of projects as determined by the head of department.You will continue to be supportive to the head of department; acting as an integral point of contact for Scheduling and Account Management, with regard to Content Services projects and will assist in ensuring work completed by the Content Services department is performed to the highest standard possible and within the timescales allocated.You will also provide support & training to the Content Services Technicians to ensure project specific working parameters and hardware/software procedures are adhered to. You will be required to assist in the research and development of current and future Content Services solutions and workflows operated by DTDC-EMEA, performing UAT and developing test case scenarios when necessary.This role reports into the Head of Content Services and Trailer Mastering.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESProvide support & training to Content Services Technicians to ensure project specific working parameters are adhered to.Assistance with training documentation and data analysis to provide a clear view of where training may be needed.Attend internal production meetings and assist in organising staff shifts and OT accordingly.Adherence to industry technical specifications and keeping up to date with industry advancements on the procedures required for compliant delivery.Troubleshoot technical issues out in the field and provide solutions with the development lead.Coordination of receipt of all elements required for each job, liaising with Content Services, Digital Cinema and Account Management as required.Tracking the daily Content Services workflow through the scheduling system, liaising with Scheduling and Account Management as needed keeping fully up to date on the status of all work orders.Direct correspondence and responsibility for delivery of content to internal and external departments, especially in the head of departments absence.Providing and maintaining documentation to support clear and consistent project specific workflows. Periodically updating documentation on the internal DTDC intranet site and Confluence.Management of output on a per project basis to ensure elements adhere not only to the DCI specification, but also to specific client requirements.Liaise and provide support with other operational departments within DTDC.Update the Content Services Team on any issues/information that may affect projects they are working on.Communicating, via phone, email and verbally with all appropriate departments regarding status of projects or any other relevant information.Completion of ad-hoc project work as specified by your manager.Be highly motivated to work as part of the Content Services team with a flexible attitude as some evening and weekend work may be required.Adhere to current policies and procedures relating to health and safety.Act as an ambassador for the Company.Performing day to day routine Content Services tasks including (but not limited to):Client attend editorial tasks; i.e. Censor Cuts.Continual technical development on current workflows, production systems and new technical specifications.Identifying areas of the department that could benefit from quick win/efficiency resolutions and designing/implementing solutions.Continual training for Content Services Technicians on new procedures and workflows.Creation and distribution of short form Prores master files and downstream deliverables for quality check and subsequent global distribution.Bi-directional colour conversion and supply of texted & textless elements to internal DFX department for localised compositing.Checking specifications of audio and full feature conform checking in preparation for delivery to digital cinema mastering for creation of digital cinema packages.Content review and quality checking a wide variety of materials.Frame rate conversions, audio retiming, pitch correcting and audio finessing to ensure audio files are fit for purpose.Creation of H264 subtitling backgrounds of trailers and features for internal and external use.DVD and Blu-ray authoring.Rendering subtitles into multimedia deliverables for global distribution.Feedback to Account Managers and the head of department (and possibly directly to clients) where further information or detail is required.Manage client attend editorial tasks.REQUIREMENTSAn understanding of film post production and associated technologies would be an advantage
