Self Shooting AP

i-D Magazine launched into the UK market in 1980 as the original style title. With an impressive black book of contributors and maintaining its core values for more than 35 years i-D continues to have significant presence and respect in the worlds of fashion, art and culture.

Role:

As Self-shooting AP for i-D Digital you will have a proven track record in fashion film, youth documentary or formats and an active interest in fashion, music and youth culture. You will have a passion for visual storytelling and be great with characters and contributors. You will be confident and capable enough to see a film through from development to the final delivery and will be comfortable working on everything from longer form documentaries to short-form lighter pieces. You will be expected to film in various capacities and have a good working knowledge of shoots, shoot set-ups and camera use. You will have a proven track record in self-directing on small shoots and contributor recces to a good technical and editorial standard.

You will have good working knowledge of the law as it relates to production paperwork in the UK and abroad and be able to advise on requests for information on a range of stories in production. The Self-Shooting AP for i-D Digital will be required to (but not be limited to) identifying and assessing new material, locating contributors, briefing and assisting producers and hosts, organising location shoots, researching archive material and collating and assessing information from various sources.

You will be responsible for ideation and research and for checking the researchers work, where necessary. You will be required to play a full and active part in the growth and development of i-D 's digital slate, and play a key part in developing franchises and new formats for the channel.

Responsibilities:

• Research, Develop and Shoot new stories in the world of fashion and music.
• Take films from concept through to the edit and delivery with an eye on industry standards.
• Work directly with the director, producer & EP to creatively manage stories and edit produce films.
• Clear understanding of what is needed to create visually exciting, commercially sound and editorially-driven long form content.
• Assist senior production staff at all stages of production to execute the programme brief within editorial guidelines with a clear idea of processes for pre-production, production and post.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the London fashion, arts and music scenes.
• Writing treatments & pitching ideas to EP and talent.

Skills / Experience Required:

• A demonstrable understanding of camera kit (C300, FS7 or similar) and know how to deliver logged materials to post.
• Experience of managing high-profile talent on location.
• Ability to come up with creative ways to achieve visual objectives and have budget expectations in mind.
• A good understanding of copyright and compliance law both on and off-screen.

Other:

• It is essential that you have a full, clean driving licence.
• To undertake such other tasks including general administrative duties as may be required from time to time.
• To be an ambassador for the business at all times.
