This role entails:
With an initial 12-Month Fixed Term Contract, the script editor will work both in production and development. In this fast-paced, high-end drama company, the script editor will have much input into the day-to-day script process during production and will ensure that all scripts meet the highest standard both editorially and for the production. In development, they will play a key role in shaping new ideas. Excellent editorial judgment, a strong eye for new talent and an ability to spot exciting new ideas are essential.

Some Key Responsibilities:
-Work closely with writers to ensure all scripts are delivered to schedule and coordinate and assemble notes from producers, directors and commissioners.
-Conduct/oversee in-depth research to ensure script accuracy.
-Discuss with writers any difficulties or inconsistencies which may arise from such research and to suggest ideas for possible alternatives where research suggests that the original idea is no longer viable.
-Ensure proofread, formatted versions of scripts are ready for production.
-Liaise between the writer and production to coordinate and issue the script amendments during the shoot.
-Work closely with, and provide assistance to, all departments during production with script-related enquiries.
-Participate in script meetings and write up notes accurately and with sensitivity.
-Be a significant support in the development of commissioned projects and newer ideas.
-Carry out research on development projects, and suggest viable ideas/territories for new projects.


To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
-Proven knowledge of and enthusiasm for television drama.
-Excellent editorial skills with good written and verbal communication skills.
-Experience of successfully working in a team in a fast-paced environment.
-A passion for storytelling with editorial flair and taste. In-depth knowledge and experience of, as well as enthusiasm for television drama, with an interest in both established and new writers.
