Job Introduction
BBC World News Editorial team is responsible for commissioning and scheduling programme content across the channel's multiple global feeds.
The Scheduling Assistant is responsible to the Manager, Scheduling & Presentation & Schedulers for producing and maintaining the BBC News schedules on the IBMS Scheduling System.
To be responsible for the collection, input and maintenance of accurate and detailed Programme information in the IBMS Schedules and database. To keep all relevant parties informed and up to date and to provide support to the Schedulers.
Role Responsibility
To create multi-timezone schedules within IBMS from Bi-annual schedule documentation.
Process and check all Programme data required for the final Operational schedule as required, liaising closely with the Schedulers to ensure the accuracy of the metadata.
To liaise with other departments within BBC World News and external partners and suppliers.
To create programme entries and manage associated billings and EPG information and to process schedule changes.
To run post transmission reports.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience of working in a TV scheduling environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
The ability to demonstrate initiative and work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.
Effective time-management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload.
Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts, and the ability to deal with contacts with tact and sensitivity.
