This role entails...
The role of Runner is an entry-level position within the TV industry but it's an important role to fill. As our Runner you will be expected to support our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Assistant Directors to assist in the smooth running of Coronation Street. The overall responsibility of Runners is to complete whatever task is assigned to them as quickly and as efficiently as possible. As even small details may cause interruptions or delays to filming, all their duties must be carried out rapidly, so that the shoot can progress smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
* Helping artistes and background through the costume and make-up process, communicating progress with the team.
* Keeping team members informed of any changes/problems during the day.
* Escorting cast and S/A's to and from set / location.
* To anticipate the AD's requirements, use initiative and help facilitate the smooth running of the production.
* To be able to read and understand the call sheet, particularly artiste call times, background artistes, action vehicles and any cross overs with other units.
* Communicate and update the Production Office and the other crews on how filming is progressing.
* To ensure scripts, plans and call sheets are available for the crews.
* Help to keep the crews and public quiet during takes.
* Run between location and base, picking up equipment etc.

What do I need to get this role/job?
Minimum criteria
* Ability to work under pressure, work long and unsociable hours in both a studio and location environment and be prepared to change your working pattern at short notice.
* A credit list (at least 3 credits) of working in the capacity of a Runner or other similar role in the TV industry.
* Experience working in continuing drama.
* A good working knowledge of production schedules, evidenced in your CV.
* Work with discretion and respect our requirement for utmost confidentiality- experience working with confidential information.

* Knowledge and passion for Coronation Street.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Previous experience of floor running in studio & location is desirable.
* You may be asked to cover driving responsibilities- a full clean driving licence is desirable.
* Excellent organisational skills.

* Ability to use own initiative and solve problems quickly under pressure.
