Runner

Glasgow

We are looking for a Runner either on the 26th or 28th June, depending on our customer. The date is all down to them and we are waiting to hear back.

This January, I started a little corporate production company. We have a small but growing customer base and focus on interviewing the customers of our customers. Essentially, this is 'pure' talking heads plus offices, B-roll etc... Two of us coming up from England (sorry we're English - sort of) and when we come up to Glasgow, will need a runner as an extra pair of hands. We may need someone to wield equipment, possibly a boom but we will be on hand to supervise.

A little experience would be good but willingness to run around willingly for anything from moving lights to booming in on a seated individual right up to buying the sandwiches. I need to be up close and personal with the customer as much as possible so need the help of a great runner to get stuff done.
Also, someone based in Glasgow would be great. We always bring in a local person, locally based as there are always little things they bring, even unconsciously.

This is a professional environment with a corporate shoot so while jeans and a polo shirt are all good, the most important element is to be respectful. We will be in a business where we will need to get great B-roll while at the same time causing as little disruption as humanly possible.

We will need you for the day and as a rule, we like to meet the runner in person the previous evening over a quick beer or wine, somewhere central in Glasgow. We find a quick 'let's get to know you for an hour informally' to be really handy. Even if it's just an hour, it's really useful for us. Our choice of camera is a C500, the identical model used for all the facial closeups on Wolf of Wallstreet, the last Jason Bourne, the last Transformers etc... We figure if it's good enough for Matt Damon, Martin Scorcese and Leonardo DiCaprio, it's probably good enough for us! We use a 5D Mk2 as a cutaway cam but really don't do much in the way of cutaways. Sound gear is a Sennheiser Mkh 416 (used on the same movies as the camera) leading to a Sound Devices mixer and a recorder.

If you have any experience with any of this kit, that would be a bonus but if not, don't worry about it. You'll end up learning a huge amount (we hope).
So let me know and happy to have a chat if you're available.
Looking forward to hearing from you and as a note, we are an equal opportunity employer.
